Ochuwa Maliki is an Associate at KENNA in the Banking, Finance & Capital Markets Practice Unit and Maritime Practice Unit. Her experience covers banking and finance, capital markets, corporate and commercial transactions, investment management, corporate restructuring, foreign investment, fintech regulation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

She has supported clients on corporate and regulatory matters, including private debt transactions, investment management arrangements, business restructurings, market-entry advisory, corporate governance reviews, and cross-border commercial matters. She brings a commercially practical approach to legal research, transaction support, drafting, and regulatory analysis.

Representative Experience

Assisting in advising a Singapore-based fintech company on its proposed entry into the Nigerian market, including the applicable licensing framework, foreign investment requirements, corporate structuring, anti-money laundering obligations, data protection compliance, and ongoing regulatory considerations.

Supporting the restructuring of a group of companies through an assessment of available restructuring options, including share transfers, asset transfers, schemes of arrangement, and related corporate governance and ownership considerations.

Conducting research on the legal and commercial frameworks applicable to the reform and restructuring of state-owned enterprises in Nigeria, including privatisation, commercialisation, concessions, public-private partnerships, management contracts, leases, and equity investment structures.
