
Cajetan Osisioma
Biography
Cajetan Osisioma is a seasoned legal professional, international human rights lawyer, and litigation and dispute resolution specialist, with extensive trial and appellate litigation experience.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL. M) Degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (with Distinction) from the American University Washington College of Law, Washington, D. C., United States. He also graduated as one of the best law students during his undergraduate studies, with Second Class Honours (Upper Division).
He is well experienced in both civil and criminal litigation and prosecutes high-value, complex, and sensitive cases across sectors and areas of practice in law before local and international courts/tribunals. Cajetan is a strategic human rights litigator and has successfully prosecuted many human rights cases, including a high-stakes human rights case against a Member State of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) before the ECOWAS Court of Justice. Before joining KENNA, he was a core member of the litigation and dispute resolution practice group of a leading law firm in Nigeria.
Cajetan is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow/Fulbright Scholar. In 2021, the United States Government awarded him the highly competitive and prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship, a Fulbright Exchange Program, and he successfully completed his one-year graduate study, research, leadership, and professional development program (with Distinction) at the American University Washington College of Law, Washington, D. C., United States, focusing on law and human rights.
He is an ORCID registered researcher and published writer, with exceptional research, drafting, writing, analytical, and presentation skills. He has published many scholarly research papers and articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals as well as contributed book chapters in a law textbook published by LexisNexis. Cajetan is a regular speaker at events and has attended many local and international trainings, seminars, and conferences, including a training on Investment Treaty Law and Arbitration, in London, United Kingdom, and an enhancement workshop on Leadership and Governance during Times of Crisis, at Syracuse University, New York, United States.
As technology evolves and impacts legal practice globally, Cajetan is developing expertise in AI, Cybersecurity, and Data Protection and Privacy Law, with focus on how they intersect with human rights.
