KENNA, in partnership with FABE International Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to environmental sustainability and climate action, marked Earth Day 2026 with a composting training session for over 30 women attendees in Magboro, Ogun State, on Thursday, 23rd April 2026.(L-R: Mrs Temitope Okunnu, Founder FABE Foundation, Funmilayo Adeshina, Head of ESG at KENNA, Mrs Oyebola, Women Spokesperson)Themed "Waste Wise: Teaching Composting for Sustainable Living," the session was designed to address two pressing challenges facing Nigerian households: the rising cost of buying vegetables, fruits, and other food items outside, and the declining health and safety of market produce.
By teaching women how to turn everyday kitchen and garden waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer, the initiative equipped them to grow their own food: reducing household expenses, improving nutrition, and restoring soil health. The training featured practical, hands-on demonstrations led by the FABE International Foundation team.

The attendees left with not only new skills but also the tools to begin composting immediately in their own homes.
