In commemoration of Social Justice Day, KENNA partnered with the Centre for Legal Research and Inmate Rehabilitation (CELSIR) to host a legal clinic at the Maximum Security Correctional Centre, Enugu, on 20th February 2026. Themed "Empowering Inclusion and Restoring Justice for Incarcerated Persons," the engagement reached 113 awaiting-trial individuals through a plenary session on criminal justice procedures, including bail, plea bargaining, and defendants' rights. Thirty individuals received one-on-one legal guidance during breakout sessions, with eligible cases connected directly to the Ministry of Justice, Enugu State, for prosecutorial review. The initiative reflects KENNA's commitment to fair hearing safeguards, reducing pre-trial congestion, and ensuring that access to legal information serves as a pathway to justice.
