Overview
Dr Fabian Ajogwu, SAN spoke at the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Annual retreat held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Colonades Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos. He spoke on “Corporate Governance in Public Institution in Nigeria”, and emphasized the need for good corporate governance practice in public institutions. In his remarks, he stated that when good corporate governance is in place, there would be sustainable development and growth. He further mentioned that the abuse of corporate governance with regards to power of public officials had the effect of weakening institutions and undermining economic growth.
Dr Ajogwu stressed the need that public institutions to establish strong internal control, accountability and openness.
